Diverse and Low-Carbon Sustainable Materials
- The performance of prepreg stems from the precise matching of the resin and fiber reinforcement.
- Resin:
- Epoxy: Includes standard types that balance high performance with processing tolerance, suitable for marine and wind power applications; as well as high-toughness, moisture-resistant versions designed for extreme environments.
- Phenolic: Its excellent fire-retardant properties make it the preferred choice for interior panels and safety structures in commercial aircraft.
- Recyclable Epoxy (EzCiclo): Swancor's "EzCiclo" is a recyclable epoxy resin. Utilizing the proprietary "CleaVER" technology, it enables the recovery of fibers and oligomers from composite materials that would otherwise become waste. This process creates a closed-loop, circular system for sustainable material reuse. #EzCiclo Degradation Process
- Fiber Reinforcement Materials:
- Carbon fiber: Offers a variety of options including high modulus and high strength.
- Glass/aramid fiber: Provides electrical insulation/heat resistance, as well as excellent impact resistance and shock absorption, respectively.
- Fabric Structures: Suitable for woven fabrics with complex curved surfaces, and multiaxial non-stitched fabrics that reduce process waste.
